Okay....it's late, REALLY late, and you can't sleep.
Can you lay in bed? NOT ME! I toss and turn for a while, PRAY,
toss and turn some more, and then I GET UP.
It's like a ritual:
- I put on my glasses
- Grab my pillow
- Tip toe down the stairs
- Put a cup of milk in the microwave
- Shove a piece of bread in the toaster
- Find my fav' old movie i.e. (Family Man, While You Were Sleeping, etc.)
- Spread my blanket and pillow on the loveseat
- Add chocolate syrup to my warmed milk
- Butter the toast and sprinkle cinnamon & sugar all over it.
- Drink my cocoa and eat my cinnamon toast.
- HOPE to be asleep before the movie ends!
You may be wondering a couple of things;
1. The significance of Hot Cocoa and Cinnamon Toast?????
2. Does this method help me get to sleep?
The answer?
1. When I was very young, my mom worked nights and I MISSED her so much, I would often wake up at midnight when she got home. Sometimes, she would make me hot cocoa and cinnamon toast. I WILL NEVER forget those sweet memories. Sooooo, even if I am not thirsty or hungry, I still make myself these treats on these late, sleepless nights.
2. Sometimes yes.....sometimes.....no.
2a. Tonight - No
