Dear Mom

Happy Mother's Day to my dear Mom, in Heaven.

I thank God for the many things that you taught me:

• How to work hard.
• How to put others before yourself.
• How to survive when you lose your husband, your parents
• and your children grow up and leave home.

I thank God for my favorite memories of you:

• Hot chocolate and cinnamon toast at midnight.
• Seeing you get up in the middle of stormy nights to light candles in case the power goes out.
• Picking blackberries and baking pies.
• Watching you be silly and dancing to your favorite music.
